Ashore - Your Relocation Partner
Ashore Relocation are contracted by the Government of Jersey to help you move to the island, so that you are supported throughout the process. They have more than ten years of local experience helping people and families with their move to Jersey. Ashore understands that although everyone’s needs are broadly the same, you are different, so their services are personalised to suit you.
You will be in safe, expert hands.
Ashore will help you with:
When you have accepted your job, Ashore will start with an initial chat to get a detailed picture of all your needs, answer your questions on Jersey and explain how they will be helping you through the process of your move. Your relocation support includes a two-day Accommodation Visit for you and the family members that are moving to Jersey with you. Typically, this will be six to eight weeks before your start date. The aims of the Accommodation Visit are to show you around the island and look at some shortlisted properties.
We are at an exciting time in this process and are embarking on a long term learning and development journey, that includes practice development and career development. This is a collaborative process and you (along with the families and partner agencies we work with) will be able to shape and influence this process.
We have a strong partnership with Research in Practice who provide a range of training and learning events that are designed to increase both knowledge and practice skills. As part of the delivery of the new social work degree course in Jersey, we are also working with Highlands College (in partnership with the University of Sussex) to build a resource library that all social workers will be able to access.
A culture of continuous learning, secondment opportunities and annual appraisals helps to drive and ensure that individual, team and whole organisational learning is a priority.
As a Government of Jersey employee, you’ll benefit from many discounts: from opticians and beauty therapies to language lessons and health club membership. Please note that these are non-contractual and can change from time to time.
